Residentials

From the age of 6 children are offered the opportunity to attend residential trips. These are subsidised by our school budget but parents are asked to give a donation towards the overall cost. The trips arranged are as follows:-

Delamere - Y2

Set amidst acres of beautiful forest, the children can experience the forest during night and day as well as a visit to the badgers set. Den building and river dipping provide lots of extra fun and learning.

Beeston - Y3

The children have the opportunity to take part in activities such as den/shelter building, habitat walks, orienteering, forest art, willow weaving, team building, a stone age session, a dairy farm visit and bush craft. The children will even have time to visit the Candle Factory - lots to pack into an overnight stay!!

Condover Hall - A Shropshire residential acitivity centre - Y4

Condover Hall is one of the most important Elizabethan houses in the Midlands. It is a treat to be able to stay here. The activities that we take part in range from outdoor sports, such as low ropes, archery and water sports to indoor activities such as computer work, problem solving and indoor sports. Groups spend two to three days here.

London - Y5

The children have the opportunity to stay at a Youth Hostel near St Pauls Catherdral for one night and then sleep in bunks on the HMS Belfast the second night. They have the opportunity to watch a show in the West End and visit the Houses of Parliament and the British Museum. On their way home they pop in to Harry Potter World for a game of quiditch!!

Conway - Y5

The children have the opportunity to take part in adventure sports at the Conway Centre, Anglesey.  The activities help develop self-esteem, communication skills, teamwork, cooperation, foster a sense of achievement and potentially a lifelong interest in a healthy activity. Activities include: Orienteering, Canoeing, Rock climbing, Gorge scrambling, Bushcraft, Problem Solving and much more.

OR 

York - Y5

In Year 5, Children will have chance to be a part of a residential to York. This will link to our topic on Viking and science unit on reversible and irreversible changes. The children will visit, a chocolate factory, Jorvik Viking Centre, an archaeological dig, York Minster and Eureka Science Museum. 

North Wales Outward Bound Trip - Y6

Four days are spent near Barmouth, taking part in a variety of challenging activities such as Raft Building, Kayaking, Abseiling, Crate Climbing, Mountain Biking and Swimming. A truly invigorating experience with fully trained qualified instructors.
