5H Forest Schools!
Date: 5th May 2016 @ 2:32pm
This term we have started Forest School with Mr Ellinson. Forest School was designed to enhance a child's personal, social and technical skills in the outdoor environment. I am thoroughly looking forward to working with Mr Ellinson and the class. Here are a few photos from the first session (5/5/2016), where we looked at potential risks and hazards.
This week in Forest School the children estimated how many dandelions/daffodils there are on our school field. This seemed like a rather daunting task at the start of the morning, but once the children had split up into groups and created m² grids it seemed much more manageable!
The children then took 3 samples of the field and worked out the average number of flowers for the 3 samples. We then grouped together as a whole class to calculate one final average.
Of course the children got to play '1, 2, 3 where are you?' & 'Sardines' - Mr Hall's favourite game! Who is that hiding in the bush?!
