Ash Class at Delamere

Lesson: Science

Class: Ash- Year 2 Year: 2022 - 2023

In November, some of year two went on their one night residential to Fox Howl, Delamere Outdoor Education Centre.

After settling in, claiming their beds, and exploring the centre, Ash Class set off on their habitat walk. We saw clues that squirrels had been around such as half eaten pine cones and acorns, badger sets, birds nests and sweetcorn from the nearby field, that the badgers had taken to munch on! We had a go at being a beaver and built dams in the stream, safe to say that we got very wet and some of us could even pour the water out of our wellies!

After tea and a lovely, toasty campfire with a few songs, we settled down in our PJs, for a film until some of us actually asked to go to bed! Miss Dalton and Miss Barratt said that we were one of the best classes for going to and staying asleep!

The following day brought orienteering, team games and den building! Mr Moss tried to build his own den, but we kept using his sticks and in the end it "fell down". We worked together really well and decided to join our dens together with a train track/road/path!

We had an amazing time but were glad to be back home again!
